An Elision of Light

Performed by the Baldwin Wallace Symphony Orchestra. Conducted by Jacob Kaminski

Inspired by film score, and written using idioms found frequently in the music of film, An Elision of Light is a programmatic work that highlights various aspects of the orchestral body. Everyone's understanding and interpretation of the piece is expected to differ from their neighbor, allowing for everyone to form their own individual ideas and pictures in their mind.

Elision is the process of joining together or merging things, especially abstract ideas, and what better ideas are there than to conjoin light and its inverse.
